About Me

My life experiences and challenges have shaped—and continue to shape—my work as a therapist. I believe deeply in our capacity to face and navigate even the most difficult times. Each day, I am inspired by the strength and resilience of the human spirit as I support people in finding their way beyond some of the hardest moments in life.

Working in Mental Health

My work in the mental health field includes nine years as a Counselling Coordinator at Mind, where I managed a range of counselling services, including the NHS funded DIT and CFD programmes, and the organisation’s main volunteer counselling service. I have also spent five years working with The Watford Women’s Centre - currently within their Ministry of Justice project. Through this work, I support survivors of childhood, domestic, and familial abuse, as well as women seeking asylum who had fled violence and persecution. Alongside this, I have also gained extensive experience working with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, dissociation, and profound feelings of hopelessness.

Working with Diagnosis and Illness

I have experienced my own serious health issues which has profoundly shaped both who I am and how I practice as a counsellor. Living with my own uncertainty, fear and resilience allows me to sit with others facing serious illness with deeper empathy and understanding. I understand the emotional complexity of being given a life changing diagnosis and I appreciate the emotional, relational and practical impact it has on everyone it touches.

Working with Parents and Adults

As a parent I have experienced first hand how transformative, and at times overwhelming, raising children can be. This understanding informs my work with clients facing the challenges of parenthood, such as shifts in identity, child loss, parenting neurodivergent children, fertility difficulties, caring for ageing parents, and navigating relationship strain or separation.

Working with Young People

I have worked in local colleges and sixth forms, supporting young people as they navigate the challenges in their lives. This has included working with parental loss, abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, questions around gender identity and sexuality, racial and cultural identity, and neurodiversity.

Working with Professionals

Before moving into mental health, I worked for 13 years in sports marketing within a large London agency. I understand firsthand the demands of high-pressure workplaces and the impact they can have on wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self.
